Bacon Wrapped Cheese Dogs, 4.3 out of 5 based on 11 ratings Print Recipe

Enjoy a good hot dog, bratwurst or sausage? Want to enjoy it more? This recipe features two marvelous additions to the traditional hot dog: bacon and cheese. Enjoy your day and indulge in this excessive display of pure satisfaction.

  • Your Choice of Meat Links - Hot dogs, Bratwursts, Italian Sausages, etc.

  • Hot Dog Buns

  • 1 Strip Bacon per Link

  • Nacho Cheese Sauce

  • Toothpicks or Shish Kabob Sticks

  1. First, if using uncooked, raw links (hot dogs and bratwursts are typically sold precooked and ready to eat), cook your links thoroughly and allow them to cool until you feel comfortably handling them with your hands.

  2. Next, or if using precooked links, wrap a strip of bacon around each link.

  3. Using a scissors, cut the tooth picks or shish kabob sticks into pieces just long enough to pierce through the entirety of the sausage (no need to be too precise).

  4. Now, secure the bacon to the link using your sticks - just one on each end of the link will do (two per link).

  5. Place your bacon-wrapped links into a frying pan on medium-high heat. Grilling over a low-medium flame works fine as well. Flip the links to ensure both sides of the bacon are cooked.

  6. Once your bacon has achieved your desired level of crispiness, remove the links from the pan or grill.

  7. Place each link in a bun (toasted if you prefer) and drizzle 1-3 tbps. of nacho cheese sauce on to each link.

  8. Plate, serve and ponder why no one had introduced you to such a mouth-watering dish until now.
