No Bake Chocolate Haystack Cookies, 4.3 out of 5 based on 11 ratings Print Recipe

With only two ingredients and no bake time, these cookies are as easy to make as they are to eat. The chocolaty flavor and crunchy texture combine to surprise and satisfy any chocolate lover. Besides mixing and scooping the cookies, all you have to do is leave them alone for a until they are set… but good luck with that.

  • 1 bag Semisweet Chocolate Chips (approx. 2 cups)

  • 1 can Chow Mein Noodles

  • Optional: Peanuts, Pretzels, Cinnamon or Cayenne Pepper

  1. On low heat, melt the chocolate chips in a small pot or saucepan, while stirring occasionally and ensuring they do not burn. If you have double-boiler, use that instead. Double boilers make the heat less direct and intense on the chocolate, and help prevent it from burning. A microwave can be also be used to melt the chocolate in 5 to 10 second increments, but with less ideal results.

  2. If desired, sprinkle any spice you wish to add into the melted chocolate, to taste. You will only need about 1 teaspoon of any spice.

  3. Now, dump the noodles (and pretzels/nuts) into the melted chocolate and mix until all ingredients are sufficiently coated in chocolate.

  4. Finally, scoop cookie-sized spoonfuls of the mixture onto a sheet parchment paper or plate, refrigerate until set & enjoy! Remember, store any leftover cookies (we’re optimistic) in either the refrigerator or a cool area to prevent a runny chocolate-noodle mess.
