Looking for a filling, cheap and healhty meal? While pasta can be prepared many different ways, the alfredo way, the bolognese way or the del mar way, few recipes are as easy and delicious as this Spaghetti Tomato Basilic recipe.
1 box Spaghetti Noodles
15 Basil Leaves
3 Garlic Cloves
¼ cup Olive Oil
Bring a pot of water to a boil, and drop in the spaghetti. Use a spatula to stir and ensure all noodles are fully submerged. If you lack spaghetti eating skills and hate having to cut your food, a simple trick is to break the noodles in half before boiling.
Allow the spaghetti to boil for 10 minutes; in the interim, preare the remaining ingredients as instructed below.
Slice the tomatoes for presentation purposes, or dice into your ideal-tomato-bite-sized cubes.
Chop the basil leaves and the garlic cloves into small pieces, no larger than a eight of an inch.
Mix the tomatoes, basil and garlic with a tablespoon or two of olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
Now, lightly oil a pan and place on medium/low heat.
Add the tomato mixture to the pan and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Strain the pasta and dump the spaghetti into the pan. Give it a good stir and allow it to slow cook with the tomato mixture on low heat for about 5 more minutes until hot throughout.
Serve while hot - the tomato mixture quantities provided adequately cover 2-3 pasta servings.
Prepare extra noodles in advanced, and, anytime you want, just spend a few minutes whipping up the fresh tomato mixture for a super quick meal! Buon Appetito from Italia.
